Hard to believe, I came across a advertisement for a tool set, and remember exactly where I saw that tool set once, 2 years ago

  1. My dad had the exact same tool set. I bet it's still at my mom's house. I tried using it a few times back when I was a kid, but it wasn't very good. The sockets have hardly any clearance for a bolt sticking through a nut, especially once the ratchet handle is attached. Also since it is a hex drive set, nothing is interchangeable with normal sockets. If I remember correctly, in order to reverse the ratchet, you must flip the handle over, (like you do with old school ratcheting box end wrenches) and stick the hex drive through the other side. Pretty primitive, even for a kid working on his bike in the early '70's.

Just thought I'd tell you again, how much I enjoy your blog. Right now, I'm so busy rebuilding my Toyota 4x4, that I haven't even had time to post anything on my own blog, BUT, I always find the time, everyday to check out your's. Keep up the good work and don't change a thing.

    1. Thanks! Do you recall seeing that set back in 2012? I found it in a Hudson Terraplane that had been cut and transformed into a truck. That socket set was inside the cab above the rear window. Memory is so odd, I can recall all the specifics about that car, location, etc etc... but not anything with numbers or names
