the new marketing bullshit ploys "Credit adjustment" and "Market Research Test Discount" to get you to renew your subscription

  1. What irritates me is magazines I have subscribed to for years and in the case of Cycle World decades do not see fit to give me the price I call the teaser price to grab new subscribers.

    1. Yes, I agree, it pisses me off too... I've posted about that http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/search/label/subscription%20renewal and magazines aren't alone in treating new customers differently/better than their long term customers, cell phone companies, cable tv companies and others, will treat an existing customer as less desirable than a possible customer. It's disgusting

  2. Yeah that is a bunch of bull. Why are they using this type of language? Are they that desperate for renewals?

    1. Yes, it is their only priority
Just my opinion.... but no magazine in the car industry is trying to win awards, they are just trying to boost the stats and ad revenue and profits

    2. Exactly. But even at that, that are losing to the internet. Did you see Rod & Custom is no more as of October 2014 issue. It is to be absorbed into STREET RODDER mag. :(

    3. yes, I posted about that http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2014/06/news-flash-mass-firings-at-source.html it's not the only subscription I have that got killed off, so did Popular Hot Rodding, Neither were very good magazines, and the last issue of Rod and Custom sucked, Obviously there was little interest in it at corporate hq. It was a total dud issue in terms of normal issues, and as a last issue for a 60 yr old magazine it was pathetic.
