the Porsche Continental, named because Max Hoffman convinced the company that they needed a marketing name for the models they sold in the USA



Notice on the front fender it has a script, and that happens to get explained early in the video.

But if you aren't going to take a moment to watch the video, in 1955 this went onto about 1500 porsche 356s, and then Ford sent a cease and desist, as they already had the rights to the name Continental with the Lincoln. So Porsche gave up on naming them
